THE NEW
CARNE AND QUESO
“The Coming Insurrection.” by the Invisible Committee

Sadly I heard about this book from the illustrious Glenn Beck (the video is below). Not to say I don't like his show, I really really do. I just don't think we are literary fellow travelers. I like to watch the Glenn Beck Program because I WANT TO BELIEVE Barrack Hussein Obama is secretly conspiring with the remnants of the Weather Underground and the aging liberation theologians of Latin America to someday soon unleash a torrent of Marxist-Leninist-Maoist  populist programs on the unsuspecting denizens of the Greatest Country On Earth (G-COE). And everyone knows if this Glenn Beckian scenario came to fruition, G-COE would be a sleeping giant no more! The tree of liberty would demand it's fill of blood and the Hutaree Christian Militia Movement would harvest it by the bucket with IEDs and fully automatic AR-15s. Me and my anarcho-autonomist buds could create new organic paradigms in the shadows of the G-COE nightmare-scape eating un-blemished years old McDonalds and drinking homemade wine while the G-men and the Tea Party still shot it out for control of the Appalachian mountains. I can see myself now, late at night while clutching my rifle I'd pull out my weathered copy of the "the Coming Insurrection" and giggle remembering the first time I read it was because Glenn Beck said "This is quite possibly the most evil thing I’ve ever read." and "I am not calling to ban this book, but you should read it to know what is coming and be ready when it does"; but then I'd well up and shed a single tear remembering ol' Glenn died long ago in the first of the Czar Obama purges.

This book is attributed to the Tarnac 9, a group of 9 French never-do-wells, that practiced what they preached. They lived communally in the French countryside growing their own food, opening a grocery store, living without cellphones and.... sabotaging railway lines to clog the arteries of commerce.  The book was written after the fiery automobile holocaust known as the 2005 French riots and puts insurrectionary violence of various forms into a context of a struggle against modern capitalism and the communal modes of resistance that could form the basis of some totally awesome new shitcakes.  These Invisibles were definitely channeling some of the poetics of Guy Debord and the Situationists which makes something that could be very dry and bland still hold flavor. The ideas presented are not necessarily ground breaking or extremely detailed in proscribing action but it is a concise and energetic "call to arms". So if you, like me, have a soft spot for angry screeds that can make people feel better about rioting and stealing then give this goose a gander.
